Our organization started a new project two years ago to support people in Umatilla/Morrow County who are having trouble getting the things they need.
We know that sometimes people like to go to yard sales, thrift stores, fruit stands, and farmer's markets, but right now a lot of people can't do that because they don't have enough extra funds.
We are a peer-driven organization made up of people who want to support our communities.
We want to give people things they may need and want for their homes, like small furniture, food, and clothes.
We also want to aid people find and understand the many resources in our communities that can support them.
To do this, we will continue to visit neighborhoods and have mobile pop-up events where we give out donations that our organization has collected.
We are very excited to meet lots of people in our communities!
If you would like to donate, please fill out our contact form, and we will get back to you within 24 to 48 hours to make plans for your donations.
"Why are you doing this? A younger mom holding a baby asked.
We saw a need, an "In-Between" need, for everyone. No one is without trying times.
- Amy Jo Young-BS, President/Founder
I had a conversation with a guy, sharing with him that I like to support people who have experienced the same things that I have.
It is not an easy process to get things needed sometimes when everything and all money goes for the LIVING LIFE BILLS!
- Joshua Young, Vice President and Co-Founder
I was at the table that was handing out company swag and stickers to the kids. They were happy to see fun things, and one kid shared:
Thank you for the vegetables; my mom was happy. I like when she is happy."
This is our "WHY," I was thinking.

"L -aPs, Inc. (also known as Learning, Living, and Loving after/along with programs) supports people in Oregon counties Morrow and Umatilla who are dealing with behavioral health, addiction, and other life challenges. The organization also obtains donations of food, clothing, small furniture, and household essentials, and distributes them to those in need.
“The current economic situation is not easy for people on low incomes, who are working multiple jobs to pay their bills, put gas in their cars, and put food on the table,” said Amy Jo Young-BS, founder and president of L -aPs, Inc. “Our aim is to alleviate some of that stress by doing what we can to ease the financial strain.”
The grant from AWS will help fund the creation of a mobile thrift store and “community fridge” to collect and distribute food and household items to those unable to access them."
